BEHAVIOR SPECIALIST



Requirements:

  • Must possess a bachelors degree in one of the behavioral or social sciences.
  • The ability to demonstrate excellent behavior management skills and possess experience using those skills with high risk, disruptive students. Experience working in an "Alternative School" is a plus.
  • Must have the ability to work cooperatively with staff in all job categories in the school setting.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work as a member of a team.
  • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills and have the capability to generate behavioral reports and summaries on behalf of the students in a timely manner.
  • Possess the ability to communicate with parents via telephone and/or home visits as often as needed.
  • Possess the ability to balance empathy and high expectations for appropriate academic and behavioral success.

Description:

  • Develop, maintain and disseminate accurate daily and weekly behavior reports on pro-social and negative behaviors.
  • Actively participate in the development of students behavioral goals and their modifications.
  • Adapt and learn a behavioral modification/mental health model.
  • Communicate weekly with parents via weekly progress reports, telephone call and/or home visits.
  • Develop through collaboration with the teacher and counselor, in-class strategies for assisting with student behavior and learning.
  • De-escalate and "time out" students, for the purpose of modifying the students' behavior and emotional needs so that they can return to the learning environment.
  • Provide the appropriate paperwork required by the "Positive Directions" Supervisor in a timely manner.


STUDENT SUPPORT SERVICES



Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in working with students (in a school setting preferred).
  • Have the knowledge and skills to work with students and appropriately employ de-escalation, re-directions or crisis reduction strategies when appropriate.
  • Demonstrate the ability to be a team player and work under the daily supervision of professional school staff.

Description:

  • De-escalation and "time-out" students, for the purpose of modifying the students' behavior and emotional needs so that they can return to the learning environment.
  • Specific duties for each position may very from school to school as designed by building administrators.
  • Provide the appropriate paperwork required by the "Positive Directions II, LLC" Supervisor in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedure of the school assigned to as well as the hiring company.


STUDENT INTERVENTIONIST

RESCUE RELIEF MEMBER (Substitute) POSITIONS:



We are always looking for qualified individuals who are capable of working in all areas of services rendered. This candidate would be utilized on an as needed only basis, who would be willing to provide services with little to no notice, and are capable and willing to receiving phone calls as early as 5:00 am.
